James M. Tardanico of East Taunton, MA died from head injuries sustained in an accident while riding his 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle in North Conway, NH on Monday afternoon August 17, 2009.

James was born at Milton Hospital on September 7, 1960. He was educated in the Stoughton Public Schools, and graduated with the Class of 1978. James and long time high school, family friend and Harley buddy, Mike Dugas, of RI were traveling along RT 112, also known as the Kancamangas Highway when James lost control of his bike and crashed into a tree.

James was owner operator of J.M.T. Excavating & Paving, of East Taunton. As a member of Operating Engenieers, Union Local 4, he was a sub contractor for Aggregate Industries.

James was the recipient of many medals, awards and trophies, for showing his Champion Staffordshire Terriers, for motor cross racing and power lifting. He also was known for his notorious gourmet cooking.

James M. Tardanico was the son of Barbara L (Norton) Tardanico and the late Guy A Tardanico, EdD. He will be sadly missed by his siblings Stephen T Tardanico of Carver, Debora DiBiasie of Saugus, Jeffrey P Tardanico of Stoughton, Helen M Doherty of North Easton, Christine M Cicero of Long Island New York, Marie E Kjelgaard of West Bridgewater and Neil J Tardanico of Middleborough. James is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and dear friends.

James loved to gather with good friends, cook, ride his Harley, train and care for his dogs and work. James was renowned for his impeccable work ethic. By his very nature he performed everything with the utmost integrity and skill. Many of his customers from south eastern MA and Cape Cod appreciated his attention to detail, kindness and warm smile.

James’s family and friends will be gathering from 2-6 PM to pay their final respects at the Farley Funeral Home on Park St., in Stoughton, MA (RT27) on Sunday, August 23, 2009. They will be honored to greet those who wish to share memories and express condolences.

On Monday, August 24, 2009 the Tardanico Family will lay their son, brother, uncle, cousin and good friend to rest in the Evergreen cemetery on Washington St in Stoughton, MA following services at the Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30 AM, Canton St., Stoughton.

Understanding James’s love for animals, the family has mentioned that donations, if one so desires, may be made to the MSPCA or the charity of your choice, in his name and would be appreciated.

A Motorcycle Accident Took My Brother’s Life

James Tardanico left his mark on the world. He was #4 in the family of 9 siblings. James owned and operated an excavation business out of Taunton, MA.

He was a perfectionist beyond words.

He was single and had no children, thank God. He was a breeder of Pit Bulls. Our family had a female from his 3rd litter. We had Saline for 16 years. She was the best, so tame and beautiful- a prize winning dog. Several of his very obedient , beautiful Pit Bulls were pull and show prize winners.

One funny story we tell often.. several months after we got Saline, was Easter. We were heading to dinner at my sister Paula’s who was neighbors with James. We put a big bow on Saline’s neck. When we got to James’s house, Saline’s mom, Sugar and dad Shaker were in the yard. Saline ran out of the car to greet them and Sugar took Saline down and ripped the bow off her neck. I guess she did not want her pup to look like a clown. We lost Saline 18 months ago.

We will miss James. Tomorrow we will view his body to determine wether the casket will be opened or closed. He was a doner and what ever they could harvest they did. He was brain dead at the scene with a faint pulse and died upon arrival at the hospital. He will live on with 30 possible other people.
